How to Install LED Lamps on a Car
Its popularity is LED lamps are obligedlow consumption of electricity, the creation of a very bright light flux, the lack of heating, a long period of operation. Even the high cost does not stop motorists in wanting to provide better light in the dark and get a durable lamp for your car.
Releasing modern LED carlamps, manufacturers take into account that many motorists will install them instead of regular ones. Therefore, most LEDs are produced with standard socles, which makes it possible to easily replace the traditional lamp with an LED lamp without any modifications. The main problem that occurs when installing, in another; which lamp to choose for different car lighting systems?
Front position lights
Today, at the auto manufacturers inIn most cases, lamps are installed without a socle. Such a lighting device has the code W5W (the socle is marked as T10). If you have a lamp with a base, it will be a T4W type (BA9S cap) or an H6W lamp (here the BAX9S base has protrusions offset 120 degrees from each other). For example, instruments type T4W with a BA9S cap are standard for the Russian VAZ "classic" (models 2101-2106). At installation of dimensional lamps it is necessary to remember about feature of an arrangement of these lighting devices: they are located near to a powerful source of heat, - lamps of distant, light. Therefore, there is a risk of destruction of LED crystals. To avoid this "trouble", manufacturers of LED lamps supply their products with current stabilizers. They reduce the supply voltage when the temperature rises. Legend of lamps with a stabilizer: - T10-1WF, T10-5SF, T10-9SE: without cap; - ВА9S-1WF: with the cap.Rear dimensions, brake lights
Today the bulk of cars are produced withtwo-contact ordinary lamps, where one contact is responsible for the dimensions, the other for the feet. The marking of a similar lamp P21 / 5W, the base is designated as BAY15D, or 1157. The two-contact LED lamps have the following markings: - 5WF series; - SMD: such devices can have from 15 to 27 LEDs; - SF: it is considered a budget option, using SuperFlux diodes (or "piranha.") If a single-contact lamp is installed in the car, the socle will be designated 1156 or BA15S. On a number of Japanese and American cars can be placed lamps without a socle. In this case, single-ended ones are marked as W21W (socle of the 7440 series), two-contact ones as W21 / 5W (socle of the 7443 series).Swing signals
Single-contact lamps are installed herethe power in 21 W (P21W) and the cap BA15S, or 1156. If the optics in auto is transparent, then the lamps that have a yellow glass: PY21W with a BAU15S or 1156 socket are suitable. To replace these lamps with LEDs, use SF, SMD, 5W. Here, too, has its own nuance; after installation, the LED lamps begin to flash much more often, so you will have to replace the standard rotation relay with a special one, designed for LEDs. However, one can get out of the situation in a different way; you need to connect the LED in parallel resistance, simulating a standard lamp - then the frequency of flashing normalizes.
