How to play a movie on your computer
Today, movies for home viewing are most oftencome to us either via the Internet or on optical discs. The recording formats for distribution on physical media and through the network differ, but for the software used in modern computers this is not a problem. As a rule, the necessary programs for the playback of movies are installed together with the installation of the operating system.
Instructions
1
If the movie is recorded on optical media, forits playback, the computer must have a suitable playback device - CD or DVD-drive. If the user takes care of this, the rest will be taken over by the computer - simply insert the disk into the drive's drive tray. The operating system will scan the contents of the media, find an autorun file and display the offer to execute it, or open the window for viewing the contents of the disk in the file manager.
2
Select an item that starts with a word"Play". The OS will launch the default player program and either the disc menu will appear on the screen or the playback will start immediately - this depends on the script placed in the autorun file of the disc. In the process of viewing, you can adjust the parameters and control the playback process using the controls of the player program.
3
In the event that the movie is downloaded over the Internet,The way to start depends more on the file format. This can be one of the standard video formats (avi, mpg, wmv, etc.), or the disk image format (iso, nrg, img, etc.). In the first case, you just need to double-click on the file and the operating system will launch the player program. The only problem that can arise in this case is the lack of a codec in the system, which is necessary for playback of this type of files. A codec is a special encoder / decoder configured for a certain standard of data placement in video files. You can find it on the Internet.
4
To play a movie from an image fileyou need a special application - an emulator of virtual drives. And it can also be obtained via the Internet. For example, you can find a free version of the emulator on the website of Daemon Tools (http://www.daemon-tools.cc/eng/products/dtLite). After installing such a program into the system, a double click on the image file will cause the same effect as the installation of the optical disk described in the first step in the reader.
