The first step in getting acquainted with the new program -studying its user interface. At first glance, a large number of different elements can scare away, but everything becomes easier if you break them into separate groups.
Most of your work in Ableton Liveoccurs on the main screen. This screen consists of several blocks, each of which manages certain aspects of your project, depending on the type of document you are working on.
At the edges of the screen are triangular pointers, when you click on which you can fold and expand individual blocks.
You can also resize the blocks of the main screen by hovering over the edge of the desired block so that a two-sided arrow appears.
If you have multiple monitors or onelarge monitor, then you can open a second window to display all the blocks of the main screen at the same time. To do this, select the Second Window command from the View menu or press [CTRL] + [SHIFT] + [W] on Windows or [CMD] + [SHIFT] + [W] on the Mac.
Attention: On Mac OS X, the [F11] key is used totransition to Expose mode, and will not switch Ableton Live to full-screen mode, unless the Expose function is disabled in the system or tied to another key.
You can run Ableton Live in full-screenmode by selecting the Full Screen command in the View menu or by pressing the [F11] key. To exit full-screen mode, click the arrow that appears in the lower-right corner of the screen, or press the [F11] key.
