Why you need religion

Why you need religion

Any religion performs 2 main functions - practical andtheoretical. The theoretical part of religion explains to people the origin of the world and the principles of its existence. It offers people their ideas about the world and its structure, the forces existing in it, and the explanation of the cause of everything on earth. A comprehensive and all explaining theory of the world today can not be offered by modern science - and in the early historical periods religious worldviews were the only explanation of the frightening people of the world. Different churches and religions have given and continue to give their parishioners a clear understanding of the world around and their place in it in a simple form. From the theoretical function of religion follows the practical that is necessary for the spiritual and psychological balance of the individual - believers live according to a certain set of rules and laws established from above . Being in such a position, such people do not need to solve the moral and ethical problems that constantly arise in their life. After all, a ready solution that does not tolerate any "buts" already exists in religion. The religion brings its adherents a whole range of positive psychological emotions: they feel protected and confident in the future - even in the future after death; their life is a meaningful phenomenon, where all events have definite meanings and interpretations; believers can constantly communicate with the higher power - God, absolutely believing in its reality; such people, while observing certain clear rules of religion, can feel absolutely right, spiritual and infallible in all situations; the presence of a religious worldview gives believers certain and clear goals in life; people deeply religious always have someone to turn to, ask for help or advice - and they believe that the higher powers hear it - ie the believing person can never really be lonely
