How many music keys there are

Full piano keyboard includes 88keys, but the number of sounds perceived by the human ear and used in music reaches a hundred. Meanwhile, the music camp has only 5 rulers. To record all possible musical sounds, there are special signs in the music notation - keys.

Treble clef

Musical keys were invented together with notesthe creator of modern notation - Guido d'Arezzo. The idea was simple: at the beginning of the musical camp a special sign is placed which indicates the position of a particular sound, which becomes the reference point. All other notes are calculated with respect to this "zero mark".

Key salt

Along with the note there is also an older onemusic recording system - alphabetic. Each note corresponds to the letter of the Latin alphabet, and the outlines of the musical keys are modified letters. In particular, the note of salt is denoted by the Latin letter G, and it was from it that the key salt, more commonly known as the violin, occurred. Its name is due to the fact that it is in this key that the notes for the violin are written, not only for her, but also for the flute, oboe, clarinet, female voices, the right hand on the piano, accordion and accordion. The key is on the 2- the second line of the musical staff, indicating the position of the note of the salt of the first octave. In France in the Baroque era, another type of salt was used, which was written on the first line. He was called the French key.

The key is fa

The outlines of the key are from the Latin letterF. Its curl and two points indicate the position of the note of the fa of the small octave - on the 4th ruler of the musical camp. In this vein, they write notes for cello, bassoon and other low instruments, as well as for a bass line in the choir, so it is called a bass line. Along with the bass key, there are also two kinds of the key fa: baritone and basso-profundovy. In the first case, the fa of a small octave is placed on the third ruler, in the second - on the fifth.

Key to

The key to is a modifiedthe Latin letter C and indicates the position of the note to the 1st octave. There are 5 options for this key. In the soprano key, the note before the 1st octave is located on the 1st line, in the mezzo-soprano - on the 2nd, in the altar - on the third, in the tenor - on the 4th, and on the bar-on - on the 5th.

Modification of keys

To any key can be added a smalleight on top or bottom. This means that all notes should be played respectively an octave higher or lower than they are written. These keys are used to avoid a large number of additional rulers or frequent changes of keys. For example, an octave above the real sound is written for guitar, alto domra, double bass, an octave lower for a piccolo flute. A similar movement is possible, not by one but by two octaves, in which case the number is added to the key. 15. To record a batch of percussion instruments that do not have a certain height, a neutral key is used. It looks like a long white rectangle or as two lines parallel to each other and perpendicular to the music mill, drawn from the 2nd ruler to the 4th. The note does not indicate the height of notes, it only indicates the musical staff where the drum part is recorded.
