At the same time, the length of the time period assigned to assignments for each of the subjects may vary. The specific duration of each type of examination is approved annually by the Federal Service for Supervision in Education and Science (Rosobrnadzor). At the same time, determining the time allotted for each subject, Rosobrnadzor is guided by the complexity and volume of information required for the successful passing of the USE on this subject, the nature of the examination tasks and other factors. In addition, when determining the duration of the time allotted for the tasks, Sanitary and hygienic standards are also adopted, including mental retardation rates for adolescents of the appropriate age. Finally, the most difficult are mathematics, physics, computer science, and also literature: students are given almost 4 hours, or more precisely 235 minutes, to complete assignments in these subjects. At the same time, the time required for conducting preparatory operations, for example, opening envelopes with tasks, instructing students to fill out forms and other procedures, is not included in the total duration of the exam.
