How to sew a short skirt for a half-sun on an elastic band
Very fashionable in the eighties skirts "sun"and the "half-sun" again ascended the podiums of the world. They again fell in love with pop stars and famous couturiers. Maybe, because they look chic, but they are sewn very simply.
You will need
- - an elastic band of 60 cm;
- - cloth (width 120 cm) 60 cm.
Instructions
1
The work begins with the measurement of a person whothen he will wear this beauty on himself. Determine the length of the model by measuring the distance from the waist to the bottom of the hem. Let's say it turned out to be 40 cm. Determine the circumference of the hips. As always, our model turned out to be ideal - 90 cm. Needless to say, the waist circumference also pleased - the standard 60 cm.
2
Remember the math. Determine the diameter of the circle D along its length L. Using the formula L = πD, where π = 3,14, and L = 90 cm, it is easy to determine that D is approximately 29 cm. Make a pattern on paper. Draw a semicircle with a diameter of 40 + 29 + 40 = 109 cm. At its center draw a smaller semicircle with a diameter of 29 cm. Everything, the pattern is ready.
3
The cutting process depends on the width and qualitymaterial, as well as the length of the skirt. If the fabric does not stretch at all in any direction and does not sit down when washing, you can sew a model with one seam. A short length of the model allows this. If there is even the slightest suspicion that the hem will bend when shrinking, divide the paper half circle around the radius exactly in half and cut two parts instead of one.
4
Find the middle of each paper sector andmark it with a pencil. On this line there should pass an equity thread of a fabric at a layout of a template. This rule must be observed for the symmetry of the figure. In addition, the fabric in an oblique direction will be sealed and not stretched.
5
Fix the material on the material with paper templates, from the edge and from each other to a distance of at least 2 cm. Circle them with chalk along the perimeter and cut out the details, deviating from the drawn line of 1.5 cm (allowance for seams). Treat the edges and sew the side seams.
6
Cut 60 cm (waist circumference) decorativewide elastic band. Connect the edges, forming a ring from it, and sew to the skirt. If you want to make a belt from the same fabric as the skirt itself, cut a strip 94 cm long and 8 cm wide. Sew it into a ring and fold it in half. Process the edge of the future belt, then sew to the skirt, leaving a space in one place about two centimeters. In this small hole, use a pin to insert a rubber band 1.5-2 cm wide. Adjust it lengthwise and fasten the ends.
7
In this form, the product needs to be washed and hung, not pressing, for the belt. This is what you once again insure against the distortions of the fabric. For greater reliability, you can evenly weight the hem with extra weight. Dry the skirt in the shade, turning it inside out. The dried and ironed product should be leveled on the hem and tucked once with a zigzag seam, after having processed the edge of the fabric.
