The mother of the future writer is a simplea peasant woman from the Poltava province Yekaterina Osipovna Korneichukova, who gave birth to a student of Emmanuil Solomonovich Levenson. Kornei Ivanovich's childhood was spent in the city of Odessa, where his mother was forced to move. The reason for this decision was that the writer's father left her as a woman "not his own circle." Kornei Ivanovich's first publications were published in the newspaper Odessa News, which was contributed by his friend Zhabotinsky.
