How to drill a valve
How to drill a valve
If there was a need to drill a holein reinforced concrete, there is a high probability of getting into the reinforcement. Drill, which is used in the work on concrete, for steel is not good. Therefore, it should be changed to the one that is intended for work on metal.
Most often the need to drill the valveIt occurs when a hole is formed in concrete or sawed out a part of a reinforced concrete slab. This is required for the installation of the entrance to the second floor, attic or basement.
What will it take to drill the reinforcement?
In order to make a hole in the steelrod, you will need a drill or perforator, which works in the "drill" mode. In addition to this tool, a drill bit for metal will be required. In work it is recommended to use drills of mark Р18 or Р6М5. These products are coated with a titanium-containing alloy, so they have high strength. Usually the color of these drills is black or dark gray, so they are quite easy to distinguish from the mass of other similar products. The point of the drill must be sharpened: it will be much easier to make a hole in the reinforcement. Professionals do not recommend using a HSS drill bit in their work, as they are much weaker in strength. How to drill a reinforcement?
Often while cutting a piece of reinforced concreteplates (or drill holes in it), the working tool gets into the armature. In this case, it is necessary to stop the work and replace the drill bit in the concrete (or the bithead) with a metal drill of the recommended grade P18 or P6M5. These high-quality products are able to cope with steel bars of any diameter. It is better to start the reinforcement with a thinner drill, for example, No. 3. The hole is then expanded with a thicker drill. To protect it from overheating and increase the efficiency of the process use industrial oil I-20. It is better if it is "winter", that is, intended for use in the cold season. Oil lubricated with a drill better passes the steel. Therefore, before starting work, it should be prepared in advance a small container and pour a little oil into it. If it is not available, you can use ordinary water. But in this case, it needs to wet not only the drill, but also the existing hole in the concrete, as well as the reinforcement. If you want to drill a conventional bar of reinforcement, not embedded in concrete, you will need a vise. They clamp the metal rod, wet it in the right place with water and proceed to drill the hole. The principle of operation here is the same: first use thinner drills, then - those that are thicker. During the formation of the hole, the drill will inevitably heat up, so it must be periodically cooled, lowering it into a container in cold water. She also needs to wash the groove in the rod, thereby clearing it of metal chips and dust.
