Tip 1: Podium for a bed: a modern functional solution
The interior of the premises is always attachedvalue, because he should not just make the eye, but be functional and comfortable. One of the non-standard practical solutions can be a podium for a bed, capable of performing several functions at once.
Podium bed
Podium under the bed can be simultaneouslysleeping area and with a good design space for storing various trifles, for example, like a chest of drawers here you can store clothes or bedding. When choosing a standard solution, you need to decide on a place that can be assigned to a bed. Everything hidden under the bed will be in sight. All these problems are easily solved by the podium for the bed - it can be used as shelves or boxes for storage of things, but can also combine these functions. But this solution has its drawbacks. Firstly, the podium is usually mounted to the floor or to the wall, so it will be quite difficult to move it. Secondly, to create a multi-functional recreation area will need to allocate a fairly large space. Both in length and width it should be at least 2-3 meters. However, in small bedrooms, the podium for the bed will justify itself much better than the usual cumbersome bed. Laying out veils and pillows in oriental style on it, you can give the room an atmosphere of relaxation and bliss. In the bedroom with a minimalist style, the podium perfectly made from hand-made materials is perfect.Podium bed with your own hands
Take 6-8 pallets of medium size. Thoroughly treat them: sand, grind, paint if desired or cover with varnish. It is most convenient to fasten them in two tiers, with steps, using metal corners. Top put the mattress and bed-podium ready. If in addition to simplicity you want to give the product also functionality, for example, using it as a place to store trifles, think about how the boxes will be put forward. They can stand on wheels or the walls will be attached with retractable guide rails. This design is an ideal solution for a children's room. It provides a lot of free space for toys and entertainment, in addition, you can not be afraid that at night the child will fall or roll off the bed. In a small living room that plays the role of several rooms at once, such a podium will also be useful. This bed is convenient because in a few seconds it can be reincarnated as a dance floor, mini-stage or cabinet. To do this, just remove the mattress, and the blankets and pillows hide in boxes. In this case, it is more advisable to make the podium-bed built-in, using the same coating for the surface and steps, which is applied on the floor. Such a bed is interesting because the area for sleeping on it can be arbitrary, not limiting you in movements and position.Tip 2: A box for storing clothes with your own hands
You are still buying cardboard boxes for storageclothes only because they are brightly colored and help to accurately distribute things in the closet? Instead of spending hundreds of rubles on cardboard, make such a box yourself.
By the way, a box for storing any things, includingnumber of underwear, it's better to do it yourself with your own hands also because you will be able to accurately choose the size of the craft for your rack or closet. Thus the space in the cabinet will be used with the maximum efficiency.
For the craft you will need cardboard box, bright fabric (chintz, satin, linen), glue (PVA, Moment, etc., in the instruction to which it is written that they are recommended by the manufacturer for paper, cardboard, fabric), scissors, brush for glue, ruler.
Helpful advice: of course, you can buy hard cardboard and dobox itself, but it's cheaper yet to ask for a box at any grocery or department store. Often, they simply expose at the cashier, so that those who wish can take boxes for moving or handicrafts.
Work process:
1. Sew two handles for the box. The width of the finished handles should be at least 1.5-2 cm, the length - about twice the distance between the places of attaching the handles. The blank for the handle should be 4 times wider than the finished handle (ie 6-8 cm). If you do not want to sew the handle, you can pick up a wide tight braid.
2. Trim the top flaps of the box. If necessary, cut several centimeters of cardboard from the top.
3. On the two opposite sides of the box, mark the place for the handles. With sharp scissors or a knife, cut through the holes for attaching the handles. The length of the handle hole should be greater than the width of the handle by about 3-5 mm, width - about 3-5 mm.
4. Cover the box with a cloth from the outside. Properly glue the surface of the box with glue. At the joints, the fabric is tucked (to give the impression that there is a hidden seam) and spread the glue especially carefully.
5. Make slits on the fabric where there should be box handles. Place the handles in the slits and glue them from the inside. Disguise the place where they are glued, with pieces of thin cardboard.
6. Glue the fabric from inside the box.
