On the ninth and fortieth day, invite onlythe closest relatives of the deceased. Bring flowers and wreaths do not enter into the house, install them immediately in the cemetery. Be sure to invite a priest to make a memorial prayer. To do this, attach the icon of the Savior to the gravestone. The icon should not be next to a photograph of the deceased, so if you are installing a photo, then fasten it on the fence.

Do not put any delicacies on the table. Obligatory dishes are kutya from cereals or grains with raisins, pancakes and jelly or compote. All other dishes can be put at your discretion.

Alcoholic drinks help the living to softenpain of loss, but their use has nothing to do with the funeral rite. The use of vodka at memorial meals came from pagan rites, so you can put alcohol or not put on the table, this church does not prohibit, but does not approve.
7
If you remember a man who neverlife did not believe in God and did not go to the Temple, still hold memorial prayers and rituals. This will help the "lost" soul to calm down and move from one dimension to another. Pray for an unbaptized and unbelieving person at home, as the ROC does not conduct rituals for the burial and commemoration of unbaptized and suicides.
