What is an immobilizer?
Immobilizer - anti-theft device, no wayDo not give out an attacker his presence. Modern instruments have a contactless control system that does not allow hijackers to scan a signal.
Immobilizer - a device installed ina car to prevent his theft. Like the alarm system, it deprives the car of mobility, but unlike the latter, its presence does not betray an attacker. To activate the device, you use a keychain, sensor, or label.
Types of devices
Activating many types of these devicesoccurs when the driver's door is opened. If the block does not count the mark, the engine stalls after a while. The most widespread were sensory and activated immobilizers. All other species are either rarely used, or have ceased to meet modern anti-theft requirements. It is a question of code devices or those that are opened with a code key, or biocode, requiring scanning of a fingerprint. Immobilizer device
1. Control unit. Relay lock. The digital locks are the most effective. They do not communicate directly with the main unit, but interact with a radio signal or regular wiring. Systems of the latest generation operate at a cleanliness of 2.4 Hz, which prevents hijackers from scanning the signal. However, in some devices the main unit is combined with the relay. Touch sensor, label or key. Removing the main unit or expelling the owner of the car, the hijacker still can not leave on it - the car will remain immovable, because after a short period of time the lock relay closes the necessary chain. The main chains of interlocks include a gasoline pump, ignition, injectors and a starter. Some drivers have already appreciated the novelty of the car security system - an immobilizer with a contactless control system. In such a car, the antenna is hidden under the interior trim, and control is carried out by means of a card or key fob. As soon as the owner of the car brings the key fob to the hidden antenna, the system will disarm and unblock all the circuits. If the control is carried out by means of a card, the driver generally does not need to do anything, the main thing is to take the card with him, and the system "knows" his master by it. Naturally, the signals received from the card and the keyfob from the antenna are coded, and the transponders themselves are "eternal", that is, there are no batteries in them.
