The coat is only on the feet, head andtail. However, there is also a downy variety of this breed. The Chinese crested dog does not shed or emit a characteristic odor for dogs. The skin is soft and tender, pleasant to the touch, because these dogs are used for so-called "pet therapy". It is believed that touching the bare skin of these dogs has a multi-faceted therapeutic effect, relieves stress. Also, it is a good analgesic for headaches, stomach pain, asthma, rheumatism. The color of the coat can be any, monophonic or with inclusions of a different color. The bare skin of a Chinese crested sunbathing in the sun, changing its shade. It can be blue, steel, honey in color. Sometimes the color of hairy areas and skin changes with age, but the nose is always in harmony with the color. Some biologists believe that the first naked dogs appeared in Africa, a country with a very hot climate. From this, the wool of the dogs disappeared.

For a long time such animals were considered sick,so they were not bred. By 1966, this breed had practically disappeared, leaving only a few individuals who were brought to the UK. It was this country and the first standard of the Chinese crested dog was developed, so they are considered the founders.

The breeds of hairless dogs are found on allcontinents, except Australia. There they exist for many centuries. In Mexico, China, Turkey, Peru, Ethiopia, Paraguay, Argentina and the Philippines have their own local bald dogs.

Skin color may be pink or black, redwood, blue, pale lilac or copper. Color is solid or spotted. Eyes: dark brown or black. The ears are planted low. Its growth reaches 30-33 cm.

Dogs of this breed never show language,when it's hot. Their skin is covered with sweat glands, with which animals are cooled and easier to transfer heat. They should be followed by special care, as they have a very delicate, thin and smooth skin. Chinese Crested does not tolerate direct sunlight, cold and damp. Therefore, after each bathing, the skin of a naked dog should be lubricated with oil or cream with vitamin E, as after the water procedures the dog will lick itself. In the cold season in Russia, the dog needs extra clothes to protect her from hypothermia.

In food, dogs are unpretentious. They eat any meat products and with great pleasure absorb fruits and vegetables (Bulgarian pepper, cucumber, tomatoes, carrots, strawberries, pears, etc.).

Chinese crested are not so pampered, as it seems at first glance. Although they very quickly become attached to people, expressing their devotion to the master.
