Australian smoky, or Australian mister(Australian Mist) - a breed that was brought out in Sydney in 1975-76. Originally it was called spotted smoky, but later it was renamed, because the cats of this breed were recorded only on the Australian continent. Australian smoky cat originated from Abyssinian and Burmese breeds. From the first they took a ticking, a cheerful character and two types of color, and from the second - the remaining four colors and physique.
Characteristic
Cats of Australian smoky breed prettymuscular and strong, but have an average physique. The tail and neck are short, the muzzle is triangular in shape, the ears are small, rounded. The eyes of the representatives of the Australian midge breed are golden, almond-shaped. Paws of medium length with characteristic dark tickling.
Wool and color
Australian smoky short wool, softand gentle to the touch, on the abdomen there is a light undercoat. To the body, it adjoins loosely, easily loosens. Color is inherent smokiness, which is clear from the name of the breed, and it applies to all six types of color: blue, chocolate, brown, golden, caramel and lilac.
Character
Cats of this breed are social, sociable, theyeasily converge with their masters. They are very attached to the house, they feel quite comfortable in the enclosed spaces, the change of the situation is difficult, so it is better not to take them on trips, but leave them for the time of absence from relatives or friends. Australian smoky get along well with dogs and other pets, with strangers behaving in the worst case indifferently, but more often friendly, like children. Despite their sociability, the representatives of this breed tolerate loneliness well.
