How to lay a natural stone

At a natural stone, more often it is a flagstone, ismany advantages over other types of decorative coatings: environmentally friendly material, low cost, high resistance to chemical or mechanical damage, the ability to handle cutting tools, long service life. To properly lay the surface of the flagstone, you need not only to choose a stone with the least percentage of sand, lime solutions and other foreign inclusions, but also take into account the material from which the wall, facade or other surface to be decorated is made. To lay the stone on the surface of concrete almost unnecessary. The only thing that needs to be done is to remove dirt and grease stains. For dirt, a brush is used, the stains are removed with a solvent. To the wooden surfaces, the stone is stuck badly due to high moisture absorption, as well as low adhesion. The wooden surface must be treated with a waterproofing material, and after that a metal net should be installed on it, providing a reliable reinforcement that allows the tile to be laid without fear that it will fall off. The metal surface is also not the best for attaching a stone. It must be treated with soil, covered with a metal mesh and additionally plastered with a cement-sand mixture with a thin layer. Since the natural stone is always of different size, before laying it must be spread out on the floor, forming the most harmonious and beautiful pattern, repeating the natural pattern. If you plan to lay out the facade with a stone, you need to remember that you need to do this only in warm weather, since in the frost the glue will not freeze, but freeze: the stone will remain on the wall, but in the thaw there is a risk that it will partially peel off. As an adhesive, bituminous mastics or mixtures based on sand, plasticizers and cement can be used. The main thing is that the mixture does not fall on the face of the stone, as it is poorly washed off the surface and spoils the appearance of the coating. Lay the stone from the bottom up, applying the solution to both the surface and the stone, and then gently pushing the stone into the solution. The seams between the stones should be as much as possible in width, only in this case the decorated surface will look beautiful, neat and harmonious. After the work is completed, the joints are filled with a special moisture-resistant mortar. If the stone is placed close to the end, the seams are usually not decorated, because the stones are joined together as tightly as possible.
