Tip 1: How to grow spirea
Spirea became an ornament in the design of the garden. They are valued for the multifaceted colors and shapes of the inflorescences, the crowns of the bush and foliage, the possibility of cutting, winter hardiness, resistance to lack of moisture in dry weather. All these worthy qualities brightly distinguish spirea among other beautifully flowering "brethren."
Cultivation of both varietal and species is similar and is carried out under such a program.
Landing. Plants will grow better on the sunny side. Planting is preferable on a cloudy or rainy day of September. The pit is planted for digging 25-30% more than the root system of the seedling itself. Depth of planting is 40-50 cm. At the bottom of the pit lay a broken brick and sand, which serves as drainage. The root collar does not bury when planted.
On fertilized and rich soils, plants develop and bloom better.
Care. In early spring, the plants are fedcomplex mineral fertilizer, for example, "Kemira-universal", 100-120 g / m 2. Water spiraea should be moderate. With prolonged dry weather and after pruning, bushes should be poured 5-10 liters per plant.
Young planting is loosened, avoiding the soil crust after watering, remove weeds. Then mulch with peat, hay, with a 5-8 cm layer of sawdust.
Spiraeus is well suited to haircut. They are grown as curbs or "hedges." After trimming, they grow even better. After flowering, cut off 1/2 the length of the discolored sprout.
In frosty winters, the tops of the branches can freeze in plants. They cut off early in the spring. For the winter, the roots can be covered with dry leaves or peat.
Spiraeans look good in group and single plantings. Large plants are beautiful on the lawns.
Tip 2: How to care for spiraea
Spirea is a very beautiful flowering shrub. There are a lot of varieties of this plant. Each species of spiraea differs in color, the shape of the flowers, the size of the shrub and the duration of flowering. At the same time, the rules of care remain unchanged.
Instructions
1
Spiraea belongs to the number of winter-hardy plants. Some varieties of this shrub may be slightly frozen, but with proper care, they quickly return their appearance. If the spiraea sprigs have damaged the frost, they are simply cut off.
2
Spire can be planted in any soil. The main thing that is worth paying attention to is a good illumination of the chosen place, sufficient soil moistening, elimination of water stagnation and regular fertilizing with mineral fertilizers. Fertilize the soil 2-3 times per year.
3
The most difficult moment in caring for spiraeus iscorrect pruning of branches. Do this regularly, but in accordance with certain rules. Most spiraea varieties are self-rooting plants. If the branches touch the ground, roots will soon be opened and the bush will lose its attractive appearance.
4
Trim the branches of spiraea in early spring orin the fall. Faded shoots are not recommended. Otherwise, the lateral branches will accelerate the growth, because of which the flowering will not be so spectacular. The flowers will be covered by foliage.
5
Propagation spiraea can be in three ways -cuttings, branches and seeds. The bush well gets accustomed and starts to blossom on the second-third year of a life. Young plants need increased attention. Soil should be regularly moistened, loosen and remove weeds.
