How to replace racks with Lada Priora
Worn out suspension struts - this is not a very pleasant phenomenon. The slightest hummock makes the car jump on some springs, making control and comfort worse.
You will need
- - a set of keys;
- - jack;
- - wheel chocks;
- - safety support;
- - pullers for steering rods and for springs;
- - new stands, bearing bearings, anthers, bumpers, bolts and nuts.
Instructions
1
Prepare the car for repair. Under both rear wheels, be sure to install the chocks, since you have to remove the front wheels. Tear off the bolts securing the front wheels to the hubs. Begin the repair from the side, as you wish, there are no separate requirements to this, but it is advisable to immediately disconnect the nuts that secure the rods of the pillars to the bearing bearings. For example, start with the left side, which is closer to the driver. Lift the left side of the car and unscrew the stud bolts completely, then remove the wheel. Now place the support under the left side and lower the vehicle onto it.
2
Take out from a finger of a tip of steering draftpin, which fixes the position of the nut. Then you need to unscrew the nut itself, using a key on the 22. Install the pull rod puller on the finger. Try not to damage the anther, otherwise replace it. Pulling the puller bolt, tapping it lightly with a hammer, you can easily remove the finger of the pull rod, which you take away slightly to the side so that it does not interfere with the repair.
3
Remove the two bolts that secure the hub to therack. Note that the upper bolt is needed to adjust the camber of the front wheels, there is a washer-eccentric welded under the head, under the nut there is the same washer. Since you change the rack completely, then after the replacement you will have to make a break-down. Rotary fists on two, apparently, identical, racks, can be displaced on a share of millimeter. And this is enough that the car's movement is not straightforward.
4
Unscrew the nuts with which the supportbearing to the glass. All, now you can remove the assembled rack and make it a partial disassembly. As a rule, the spring and washers do not change, since they have practically no workings. Therefore, you need to squeeze the spring with a puller, then just unscrew the nut on the rod of the rack. So, with the old rack you will need only a spring and washers.
5
Assemble a new rack, install an anther on itand a hammer, spring, support bearing, washers. It is advisable to do this with a fully extended rod. Now, put the nut on the stem thread and remove the puller from the spring. Installation of the shock absorber is in the reverse order of removal. After installation, extend all threaded connections with the required force. The second side is dismantled and collected similarly.
