How to find an idea for business? We get the wallets!

In search of an idea for business? In fact, it's quite simple. First of all, one must learn to find the emptiness of markets and pay attention to them. Professor Stanford University Tina Sylig developed the following exercise

How to find an idea for business? We get the wallets!
Participants are asked to get their wallets. Then they break in pairs and tell each other about their wallets. They discuss what they like or hate about them, or how they use them to buy and store documents. Most people who use wallets are more or less displeased with the limitations of this subject. Therefore, after the completion of the interview, each of the participants starts creating a new wallet design for their "client" interlocutor. At the disposal of the designer there are only simple objects: paper, adhesive tape, markers, scissors, paper clips and the like. Buyers like new concepts, and they often say that if such a wallet were on sale, they would necessarily have bought it. This exercise allows you to get a lot of lessons. Firstly, a wallet is a symbol of the fact that problems can be found everywhere, even in your own pocket. Second, only small efforts may be required to solve these problems. People are usually happy to tell you about their problems. Thirdly, simple solutions can be found using straightforward experiments. They do not require a significant amount of work, neither resources, nor time. And even if you do not succeed, your costs are minimal. And all you need is just to start over.
