Tip 1: How to enable ip routing

IP routing is necessarytool of access to the Internet. By default, routing TCP / IP packets between network adapters in Microsoft Windows is disabled. Therefore, it must be included.

How to enable ip routing

Instructions

Open the sectionHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEM'CurrentControlSetServicesTcpipParameters and make the following changes: Parameter: IPEnableRouter Data type: REG_DWORD Value: 1 to enable routing of TCP / IP packets for all network connections.

4

Select the "General" section and open the context menu by right-clicking on the "General" field and selecting "Properties".

Click on the "Log all events" checkbox to fully display all IP routing events.

8

Select the checkbox "Disable Event Log" to cancel the commit.

Tip 2: How to remove routing

To configure modern LANs, you simply need to be able to handle routers. Sometimes you have to drastically change the existing settings when adding new devices.

How to remove routing

You will need

  • router, network cable.

Instructions

1

If you already have a working working localnetwork with the specified parameters and you need to connect new equipment that does not match the characteristics of the router, change the parameters of the device. Enter the web-interface of the equipment.

2

To do this, start the browser on one of thecomputers connected to the router and fill the address bar with the IP address of the equipment. Most likely, for this you need to specify not the standard address of the router, but the IP that is currently used.

3

To change the settings after the routercontinued to perform its functions qualitatively, it is better not to change important parameters. Enable the DHCP function if it is disabled. This operation will save time on setting up stationary computers and laptops that will be connected to the device.

4

If you need to connect new laptops, wireless adapters that are not able to work with an existing network, open the Wireless Setup menu. If you change the existing parameters of the encryption and signaling protocols, for example, from 802.11g to 802.11n and WPA-PSK to WPA2-PSK, there is a high probability that laptops connected earlier to the router will stop connecting to the Internet.

5

In this situation it is better to proceed as followsway: set the mixed types of parameters. Many routers allow you to activate the following features: 802.11b / g / n mixed and WPA / WPA2-PSK mixed. Take this opportunity to connect different types of devices.

6

If you purchased a router that used to bewas used on another network, it is recommended to completely delete the settings. To do this, press the Reset button located on the body of the device and hold it in this position for 5-10 seconds. Perform this operation with the device turned off.

You can do it yourself. The process is quite lengthy and requires attention, but if you follow these instructions, you can do it yourself.
