This can be done using a network portEthernet or using wireless wi-fi technology. If a physical connection is created, it remains only to install the correct software settings. Set the correct connection settings in the TCP / IP section. If in your local network IP addresses are manually registered, specify a unique address for the network connection, then the gateway and mask fornetwork. Check in the properties of the computer that the laptop was in the same working group as the local computers network. Look at the map of the whole network in the "Network Management Center". Try to ping the IP address of the laptop from another computer network. Make sure that the program to scannetwork traffic or antivirus do not block the network connection. Disable the Windows Firewall. Restart the computer, as not all network settings can work right away.

If the ping command was successful in the map network you saw the laptop, so the connection was successful.
