Tip 1: How to compress the patch

Tip 1: How to compress the patch

The most common way to communicate computersthe patch cord remains. Whatever they say about wireless Wi-fi networks, nothing is easier than a cable connection, for computer technology is not invented. There are two types of laying the cores of the network cable in the connector: the patch cord and the cross-cord. For communication, a computer - switch, ADSL modem, network external drive, a patch cable is used. To connect computers directly use a cross-cable.

How to compress a patch

You will need

  • - a special crimping tool with a device for cleaning the ends of the cable;
  • - 2 connectors;
  • - network cable.

Instructions

1

Take the two connectors for the network cable, they are called RJ-45 or 8P8C. Buy these connectors can be in any computer equipment store, they are inexpensive.

2

Measure the required distance and cut off the networkeight-core cable of the required length. Please note that the cable can be of different types. The easiest way to focus on the application: outdoor or indoors. For rooms and porches any option is suitable. For laying on the street, for example, on the wall of a building, it is better to take a more expensive shielded cable.

3

Free from external insulation and shieldinglayer approximately 3 centimeters at each end of the cable. Use a special crimp tool with a device for cleaning the ends. Take care not to damage the insulation of the live wires.

4

Unscrew the twisted wires so that theirIt was possible to lay out in one line and straighten the length of all veins with scissors, nippers, or mites for crimping. Repeat these steps with the second end of the network cable.

5

For crimping the cable according to the "patch cord" scheme forconnection of the computer with the network equipment, the following arrangement of wires is applied: white-orange, orange, white-green-blue, white-blue-green, white-brown-brown. Grasp the wiring harnesses in the row with your fingers and insert into the grooves of the connector until it stops. Check that all the conductors of the cable have entered the channels well, gently insert the connector with wires into the crimping pliers and tighten the tool grips firmly. If this is the first time you do this procedure, first practice - insert the connector cap into the tongs only in one position.

6

Spend with the other end of the cable the sameaction, that is, the order of the veins remains the same. Before crimping, compare the arrangement of colors in the grooves. Pay attention: if you look at the connector with inserted wiring, their order should be the same on one side. That is, you need to compare either from the flat sides, or from those where the fixation protrusion. Otherwise you will receive a non-working cable.

Tip 2: How to Crimp the Crossover

A cable that connects two computers betweenas well as connecting the computer with the hub patch cord, you need to connect correctly. This is a simple matter, the main thing is to remember the color sequence.

How to crimp a crossover

Instructions

1

Remember that a cable that connects two computers or two network devices to a network is called "crossover". To distinguish a cable of this type from connecting computers to a hub is very simple. If the wires are suitable for the connectors that will be connected to the equipment, in the same order (by the colors of the wires) is a straight cable. If the wiring is different - it's a crossover, from the word "cross" - the intersection.

2

Buy a twisted pair (UTP cable) in any store,where computer network accessories are sold. It is desirable to immediately purchase a cable of the required length, then you do not have to think about where to hide the excess part. Take the necessary piece of cable and carefully trim the protective coating by two centimeters. Do not damage the thin wires, or their insulation. It is best to use a special tool for this purpose, which can be purchased at the same store or rented.

3

Now distribute the wires from one end so,so that they are in the same horizontal plane, in this order: - white-orange - orange - white-green - blue - white-blue - green - white-brown - brown.

4

Spread the wires on the other end of the twisted pair in a different order: - white-green - green - white-orange - blue - white-blue: - orange - white-brown - brown.

5

Carefully align the wiring first with one,then on the other side. Keep the wiring close to each other, cut, using a knife to squeeze the twisted pair, leaving about a centimeter. Turn the RJ-45 plug-pin downwards, put it on the cable so that the wiring remains in the right order and enter the special grooves as far as it will go. In this case, the cable sheath must be inside the plug. This will prevent the wires from kinking.

6

Insert the plug into the groove on the tongs and tighten the handle of the instrument. Repeat the operation on the other end of the twisted pair.
