Tip 1: How to enable the built-in sound card
Tip 1: How to enable the built-in sound card
Almost all modern computers are equipped with a built-in sound card. This will save money on the purchase of a separate chip, but will not allow you to enjoy high-quality sound.
Instructions
1
Turn on the audio card by means of BIOS. To access the BIOS, restart your computer and after turning on the screen, press on the keyboard Del or Tab (this information is always indicated on the screen).
2
Now use the "left", "right", "up" and "down" buttons to navigate between the tab items, menu navigation.
3
Find the Integrated Peripherals tab orAdvanced in the BIOS tabs, highlight this item and press the Enter key. Then select AC97 Audio Select (sometimes called Onboard AC "97 Audio, which depends on the manufacturer), press Enter and set the value to Enable.
4
Press the Esc key. Now, on the BIOS main screen, locate the Save and exit Setup tab. Highlight it and press Enter. Confirm that the changes are saved by pressing the Y button. The computer will need to reboot reliably. In this case, the built-in sound card will be activated and will work.
5
Enable the sound card in the operating systemWindows. Go to the "Control Panel" from the "Start" menu. In the window that opens, double-click the "System" icon.
6
In the system description window, find the tab"Equipment" (Equipments). Go to it. In the tab, left-click on the words "Device Manager" (Device Manager). In the window that appears, find the tab "Audio, Video and Game Controllers" and click on it with the left mouse button. In the list, select your built-in audio card and double-click the left mouse button. In the new window, under "Application Of The Device", change the "This Device Is Not Used (Disabled)" feature to "This Device is Used (On)" (Enabled)).
7
Now restart your computer. The sound card will be turned on.
Tip 2: How to turn off the sound card
Sometimes users do not need an audiocard in the system (especially if it's a built-in sound card, and there is a better quality separate one in the system). In this case, in order to avoid equipment conflicts, it is better to disconnect the unused device.
Instructions
1
The simplest way (and safer) is to disable the built-insound card in the BIOS of your motherboard. To do this, go to the BIOS setup menu (usually by pressing the DEL key during the computer boot) and go to the "Integrated Peripherals" section (for the AWARD BIOS). There, set the item "AC97 Audio Select" to "Disabled", save the settings and restart the computer.
2
If for some reason you do not want to touchBIOS settings or want to disable the optional sound card, then for the Windows operating system it is better to do this as follows:
3
Right-click on the "My Computer" icon, select "Properties".
4
Go to the Hardware tab, click the Device Manager button.
5
Find the sound card you want to turn off, right-click on it and select "disconnect".
Tip 3: How to enable setup
When reconfiguring computers, use the utility CMOS Setup. It is written directly into the ROM of the motherboard of the machine along with the BIOS, and therefore works even when there are no boot devices. The way it is called depends on the card model.
Instructions
1
A common way to call the CMOS Setup utilityconsists in the following. Turn on the computer, then start quickly pressing the "F2" or "Delete" key until the menu of this utility appears on the screen. Which of these two keys should be pressed depends on the model of the motherboard. The first of the keys is usually chosen by laptop manufacturers, the second - the manufacturers of desktop computers, but there are exceptions.
2
If you do not know which of the keys followspress, carefully look at the messages displayed on the monitor screen during the POST-Power-On Self-Test. You are likely to see one of these lines at the bottom of the screen: "Press F2 to enter Setup" or "Press Delete to enter Setup".
3
Some modern BIOS versions instead ofPOST information before downloading displays a screen saver, which sometimes does not say anything about which key enters the CMOS Setup. But sometimes there is information about how to remove this screen saver. Press the appropriate key - and you will see the usual POST.
4
If you find out which of the keys you want to pressto enter CMOS Setup failed, try to use the "F2" key first, and then, if the machine's load continues, reload it, this time using the "Delete" key to enter the CMOS Setup.
5
It is possible that after logging into the utility, instead ofmenu you will be greeted by a form for entering a password. In this case, turn off the computer power, remove the miniature battery, close the contacts on its holder on the motherboard (but by no means the battery itself!), Then reinstall it, turn on the computer and enter the CMOS Setup.
6
Using the utility, remember that in it you canTo carry out actions dangerous to the computer, for example, to disperse the processor to such a frequency that it will fail. The rule here is one: in no case do not change the settings, the purpose of which you do not know. And if you accidentally changed one of them, immediately execute the exit operation without saving the settings, then again enter the utility.
Tip 4: How to disable the sound card
Need to disable integrated audioboard occurs at the time of installation in the system unit of the computer additional audio device. To perform this procedure, you do not need special skills, it is enough to have administrator rights.
Instructions

After installing a new sound card, turn on the computer and log in as an administrator. Disable integrated Pay from the user profile with limited rights will not succeed.
2
Click the "My Computer" icon with the right mouse button, in the opened context menu select the "Properties" command. In the new dialog box, go to the "Device Manager" section.
3

4
Expand the "Sound, video, and game devices" item and right-click on the corresponding sound card icon that you want to disable.

6
If for any of the above actions the systemresponds with an error, select "Properties" in the same menu, and then click the "Disable" button on the "Driver" tab of the system dialog of the sound device. Another option is to completely remove the card driver by clicking the appropriate button.
7
After deactivation or deletion is completedriver of the integrated board, check for similar system files for the newly installed device. To do this, you can use the "Update" command from the "Driver" tab of the dialog box for the new sound card.
