How to make excel open
Create a common workbook open forediting to multiple users, in the Excel application, included in the Office suite of Microsoft Office, is a standard procedure, not involving additional software.

You will need
- - Microsoft Excel 2007.

Open the main menu of the operating systemWindows to initiate the procedure for creating a new or opening an existing Excel workbook for several users and go to the "All Programs" item. Expand the Microsoft Office site and start the Excel application. Create a new document or open the book you want to modify.

Expand the "Changes" dialog and specify the item"Access to the book" on the "Overview" tab. Click on the "Edit" tab and apply the checkbox to the "Allow changing file to multiple users at the same time" field. Use the "Details" tab to define and update the changes you make and confirm your choice with the OK button. Enter the desired name of the created document in the "File Name" line or save the already existing workbook by clicking the OK button. Expand the Microsoft Office menu and select the Save As command. Specify the network resource for saving the document and available to the selected user in the folder "Folder" and use the "Save" button (for Windows XP) or select the desired network storage location in the address bar and confirm your choice by clicking the "Save" button (for Windows Vista ).

Expand the Connections node and select the"Data" for changing the necessary links. Click the "Edit links" button and select the "Status" option. Specify the action to be changed for each selected link and confirm the application of the changes by clicking the OK button. Note that the impossibility of displaying the "Change links" button shows that there are no linked links.

Remember that in open Amulti-user access to the general Excel workbook by default are not supported: - Data tables and PivotTable reports - Structures - Hyperlinks - Data validation - Merging cells - Conditional formats.
