Probably, there are no users who have never heard the term "Virtual disk". Now many files are distributed in the format of a virtual disk. It is a copy of an ordinary physical medium. You can also create images from different files.

There are quite a few different formatsvirtual disks. The most common of these are ISO and MDS. Knowing them all is not necessary. Any program for working with virtual disks supports almost all formats.

First, you need to install the program usingwhich will work with virtual disks. One of the most convenient and popular programs is called Alcohol 120%. Download it from the Internet and install it on your computer. After installation, restart the PC.

Run the program. After the first start, it will create a virtual drive. This will take some time. By default, one virtual drive is created. But if necessary, their number can be increased.

Often the program is used to openvirtual disks. To do this, click on "Image search" in the main program menu. Select the hard disk partition where the virtual disks are located. After the program finds the images, add them to the Alcohol menu. Now you will see that the list of images is displayed in the right window of the program.

Click on the desired virtual media rightbutton. Then click "Mount" in the context menu. After a few seconds, the disk image will be mounted on the virtual drive. Go to My Computer. There you will see that another drive has appeared in the device list. Now you can view the contents of the virtual disk.

If you need to write an image to a physicaldrive, you can do so. Insert a blank disc into the computer's drive. In the program menu, select "Burn CD / DVD from the image". Next, specify the path to the virtual disk that you want to write. Click "Next". In the next window, check the box next to the "Record" line and click "Start". The disc recording procedure starts. When the procedure is complete, simply remove the disc from the drive tray.
