Tip 1: How to insert a formula in Word
A useful and convenient application for MicrosoftOffice - Word program - allows you to type all kinds of texts and reports, create multi-page documents with graphics and photos, and also contains many useful functions and add-ons previously unknown to the user.
Imagine a situation where Word createsa document or a report, in which it is necessary to include formulas (from the field of chemistry, economics, etc.). You can of course do this with the symbols of a standard keyboard, but then the formulas will look like 5/9 (five-ninth), 4 1/7 (four one-seventh) or "Profitability = Profit / Turnover * 100%". Agree that with this writing, the clarity of the text or the report is lost. Many users know this problem, but not everyone knows how to insert a formula in Word correctly. With the help of additional functions, Word has the ability to insert formulas into the texts in the usual way. To do this, Microsoft Equation 3.0 is built in Word. To work with it you need in the place of the text where you need to insert a formula, set the cursor and activate the Insert tab in the mouse. Then select "Object" and select Microsoft Equation 3.0 in the list that opens. Some users of this function may not be. The thing is that it is not included by default in the programs installed with Microsoft Office, so you need to install it. To do this, use the "Start" button to go to "Control Panel", select "Add or Remove Programs". In the opened list, we find Microsoft Office and activate the "Change" command. The Microsoft Office Setup Wizard opens, in which we activate the Add or Remove Features button. In a new window, select "Microsoft Office Tools" again and tick the "Formula Editor". We press the button "Update". The update program will require you to insert a CD or DVD with the Microsoft Office package into the drive. After the installation is completed, the computer will need to restart. After installing the component, or if it was initially installed, select it and activate it. On the sheet in the place where the cursor was placed, an object frame with a panel of mathematical symbols and an internal cursor will appear. In it, you can write fractions and formulas, physical quantities, degrees, square roots, integrals, etc. Now, to insert a formula in Word correctly, you must select the desired operation in the formula bar, and enter your values in the appeared template. Switching between templates is carried out with the help of the Tab key. For example, entering mathematical symbols - or fractions -, it is necessary to choose from the offered formulas "Fraction and radical templates". If you want to insert, then select "Upper and lower index templates". If you often have to use them in the text, then it makes sense to set a shortcut button in the toolbar to the function "Top Index" or "Subscript". Now, if necessary, insert a digital value indicating the area or volume, just after the letter "m" (meter) click on the created button "Upper index" and in the field insert the number 2 or 3.
