If you are using a standardkeyboard, in which the additional unit is located separately from the main one, use one of the keys of the additional keyboard to disconnect. It is indicated by the inscription Num Lock and placed in the first place in the first line of the set of additional keys. On the keyboards of most notebooks this key is also there, but to save space, it can be placed not in its standard place - in any case, look for it in the upper right corner of the keyboard.

On the keyboards of netbooks and small-sizeNotebook, in which the additional keyboard is combined with the main one, use the key combination to disable it. One of the combination buttons must be Fn, and the other one is one of the function keys. Its computer manufacturers choose at their own discretion. Most often this is the F11 button, but if in your laptop this combination does not work, specify the desired combination in its description.

The basic input / output system - BIOS - also hasin its settings, the control for disabling the additional keyboard. If you set it to "off", the numeric keypad will be deactivated every time you turn on the computer. To do this, first open the main OS menu and select the reboot command. When the screen for checking the hardware and prompting you to press Delete or another button to enter the BIOS settings panel, do this.

Find the installation that is responsible for disablingadditional keyboard. Its exact name and location depends on the BIOS version used in the computer. For example, it can be in the Advanced BIOS Features section and be called Boot Up Num-Lock - go to this section and use the PageUp and PageDown keys to set it to Off. Then exit the settings panel and save the changes.
