It is interesting that in the Russian legislationthere is no such thing as "identity card". However, the list of documents established by the basic normative acts is presented, which can be presented in the absence of a passport, the main certifying document for Russian citizens.

Do not confuse documents certifyingPersonality with documents certifying the status of the owner. The latter include: a passport, a student's record book, a work record book and various certificates (lawyer, veteran, police officer, MES, FSB, tax inspector, civil servant, disabled person, donor, etc.). Their presentation does not give the right to perform legal operations.
