Tip 1: What is chrismation

In the Christian tradition, there are severalsacraments, during which the Lord sends divine grace to man. The number of sacraments is different in the three directions of Christianity. Chrismation is one of the seven Orthodox sacred actions. In the Catholic and Protestant churches, the attitude toward chrismation is somewhat different from the Orthodox tradition.

What is chrismation

Chrismation is the anointing of certainparts of the human body by the holy world. In the Orthodox tradition, the anointing is performed together with baptism, when the priest with the words "Seal of the gift of the Holy Spirit" applies the holy miracle on the forehead, eyelids, ears, chest, arms, legs and mouth. According to the Orthodox doctrine in this sacrament, the divine grace that helps the baptized to be perfected in the spiritual life condescends upon man. This sacrament is performed over all those who embark on holy baptism. The prince of the chrismation can be any priest who is not in the prohibition of service.

Catholics anointing is called confirmation. The practical side of the sacrament is distinguished by the fact that it is performed by a bishop (only in rare cases it is allowed to anoint the priest) and only over people who have reached a certain age (usually from 13 years and older). Only the forehead is anointed. In confirmation, a person also receives grace, which makes a Catholic a warrior of Christ.

In the Protestant tradition, the concept of chrismation,as the sacrament is absent. It is nothing more than a pious custom, which means a conscious confession of faith. According to the teachings of Protestants, a person should begin anointing in adulthood. It is from this moment on that the Protestant can consider himself a full member of the Church.

Tip 2: Can I get pregnant?

Wedding is not just a beautiful churchrite. This ceremony is called a sacrament - a special ritual, during which a divine grace that strengthens it in family life condescends upon a person.

Is it possible to get married pregnant?

The Orthodox Church treats with special respectto women in the situation. This is due to the fact that the very fact of conception and the birth of a child is a particularly joyful event - a phenomenon in the world of a new person. Scripture proclaims pregnant women special trust - the Apostle Paul in his epistle to Timothy, says that the woman is saved through childbearing, if in the love, faith, holiness and chastity.

For some people, the question ofadmissibility of participation in the sacrament of the wedding of a pregnant woman. Sometimes you can hear warnings from such an action in the measure of superstitions and acceptances. However, this opinion is not shared by the Church. The priest can not refuse the sacrament of the wedding solely because of the woman's pregnancy, guided by superstitions. The Church negatively regards the signs and does not see in them anything in common with Christianity.

Participation of a pregnant woman in the sacraments is not onlyallowed, but considered mandatory for the faithful mother. So, the confession, communion, soborhood, baptism, chrismation is blessed. Wedding is also allowed for pregnant women, so it's worth not simply talking about the possibility of embarking on this saving ritual, but about the need for the wedding of a believing Orthodox pregnant woman who has married.

In the sacrament of the wedding, the Lord gives hisblessing on family life, as well as the birth and decent moral education of children. For an Orthodox person, the wedding is a true marriage union, established in faith and love through a testimony of this before God. Therefore, it is necessary that the child be born in a God-blessed marriage. If a believing couple has, for one reason or another, not been able to begin the wedding before the moment of conception, then one should not be afraid and postpone participation in the sacrament.

With the participation of a pregnant woman in a wedding isconsider the duration of the sacrament (about forty minutes - an hour). If it is difficult for a woman to stand all this time, it is necessary to prepare a bench for which the woman in the position can sit down. It is necessary to watch especially the physical well-being of the future mother. If necessary, you must be ready to provide any assistance.
