What is the blessing for?
Blessing is an act of transferring personalgoodwill for the coming cause. In another sense, one can mean the transfer of beneficial assistance, which strengthens a person in a certain activity. The blessing of the confessor is something without which no Christian begins an important matter. Why is it necessary and what is the relevance of such an action today?
Man in its essence is not just purelya material being. The worldview of people, as well as various religious teachings, point to the dual nature of human nature. It is the union of body and soul. Therefore, faith is completely understandable and meaningful from the point of view of psychology and belongs to the heart, and not to the mind.
The practice of applying to a priest for blessing
Awareness of the personality of oneself as not the supreme beingin the universe indicates the possibility of the existence of God. The foundations of Christian dogma on earth are founded by the Lord Jesus Christ, the Church, understood as a society of people united by one faith, hierarchy and sacraments. The priests were appointed by the apostles themselves to help people in their spiritual needs. Therefore, even now people in difficult life situations resort to the priest for help. Before the beginning of an important matter, for example, treatment, admission to educational institutions or the creation of a family, a person asks a priest's blessing. It should be understood that through this person receives the help of grace from above, and the priest is only an intermediary between God and man in the transfer of the favor of the Creator. The Purpose of Receiving the Blessing and Its Significance for Human Life
It should be noted that there is no practice inChristianity take blessings on evil deeds. This is due to the assertion of the Church about the need for man to strive all his life only for good principles, to strengthen his inner world through various virtues. In the moment of asking for a blessing, people show their will in the pursuit of God. The main goal of human life is the union with one's Creator (as the Orthodox doctrine maintains). In Christianity, the relationship between God and man is built not just on the subordination of the second to the first, but on mutual love. God is first and foremost a loving Father. If it is possible to ask your friend to ask for help in getting a job or going to an educational institution, this possibility is often not neglected. This is what the blessing is for. Thus, people ask for God's help in the upcoming affairs, they enlist His support. In a world where many unforeseen circumstances occur, a person tries to protect himself from a diverse negative. Everyone wants his good intentions to be a success. In this sense, the help of God, to whom absolutely everything is subject, is necessary and increasingly affirms the person on the right path of co-operation with his Creator.
