What tales tell about the appearance of the Earth

Myths of India

In Hindu mythology, there are severalversions of the creation of the world. According to one of the legends, initially there was only water everywhere. From the vast watery surface, one day a golden egg was born, which floated throughout the year on the water. Once it finally split, and from it came the god Vishnu (according to other versions of Brahma). It was enough for this god simply to call by name what he wanted to see, as it immediately appeared. Vishnu called the parts of the world and the earth appeared, the sky, and later he created gods, demons and humanity. Myth says that the created world exists about 4.5 billion years, and then perishes. There comes a period of chaos, and the god Vishnu falls asleep for 4.5 billion years, and waking up, again creates the Earth and all living things. So cycles of birth and death are repeated again and again.

Japanese legends

According to the legends of the Japanese high in the sky on the plainthe first gods lived, which were hidden from each other. After several centuries they nevertheless began to live together, and they had children. From the new generation of gods, the goddess Izanami and the god Izanaki were born, thanks to whom the world was created. According to beliefs, the Earth initially resembled a jellyfish swimming along the waves and looked like an oil stain on the surface of a large ocean. The higher gods gave young Izanak and Izanami a beautiful spear and told them to thicken the earth, making it solid. Young gods descended to the cloud bridge, connecting heaven and earth and loaded the spear into the ocean. For a long time they stirred water, and lifting a spear, directed it over the floating "jellyfish". From the spear drops fell on the surface of the spots and thickened, turning into islands. Thus, the first land appeared, to which young gods descended from the sky and performed a marriage ceremony.

The Traditions of the Aztecs and Mayans

The ancient Maya and the Aztecs believed that the gods in their own waydiscretion could create and destroy the world. The Aztecs believed that the birth of the world is subject to certain cycles, and with the change of each era, the death of the world occurs. In their opinion, up to our world there were four more. If people on the Earth behave unworthily, the gods will be angry and destroy the fifth, the present world. God of fertility Quetzalcoatl and the omniscient god of Tezcatlipoca create heaven and earth. Then they collect the council of the gods, on which they make a bonfire. The first, on which of the deities falls lot, jumps into the fire and turns into the sun, and the next becomes the moon. The beliefs of the Maya have much in common with the views of the Aztecs. In both cultures, people were very afraid of anger the gods and lived in constant fear that the world could be destroyed. However, they worshiped different gods and represented the history of the destruction of the worlds a little differently.

Will "The Lord of the Rings 4"

Finished stories

The history of the Battle of the Ring of All-Power ended withthe reign of King Aragorn in Minas Tirith. The heroes lived their lives, and their departure was covered by the author in the last chapters of the book. However, "The Lord of the Rings" was the most famous, but not the only creation of the Oxford professor Tolkien. He wrote it as a continuation of the story "The Hobbit", and that's because another of his works, The Silmarillion, was not accepted for publication. English philologist and linguist dreamed of creating his epic, because, in his opinion, in England there was no full-fledged mythology. As a result, out of his pen came out and were published during his lifetime: the story "The Hobbit" and the novel-epic "The Lord of the Rings", which the publishers were divided into three parts with different names. Other books: The Silmarillion, The Children of Hurin, legends and legends were published after the death of the professor by his son Christopher Tolkien. All these books tell of the creation of a world called Arda, the history of its peoples and countries. Middle Earth, the battleground for the ring is just part of one of the continents of Arda.

Once upon a time there was a hobbit underground

John R.R.Tolkien sold the rights to "The Lord of the Rings" in 1968 for $ 15,000, so there was no problem with the adaptation of Peter Jackson. He created truly masterpiece films, carefully preserving the spirit of the great book, as he is an ardent fan of her. But the descendants and relatives of the professor, especially Christopher Tolkien, did not like the screen version.
Of all Tolkien's relatives, only his grandson Simon supported the creation of Peter Jackson, which led to the deterioration of his relationship with his family.
When Jackson planned to film the "Hobbit"the right holder found out for several years. Since the "Hobbit" was published in one part, the director wanted to shoot one film on it, but the film companies demanded to split it into two parts for reasons of financial success. The shooting began on March 20, 2011, and a year later it was announced that the film version of the "Hobbit" would be released in three parts. This decision, while stretching the expectation of the prime minister, allowed to supplement the action with plot lines from the annexes to the "Lord of the Rings" and show fans as much as possible of the beloved world.
In total, three films "The Lord of the Rings" were nominated for 30 Oscar awards, and 17 of them won, which is an absolute record for kinotrilogy.

What's the turn?

After the release of the third part of the "Hobbit"the question of the inevitability of parting with the world of Middle-earth will rise again. "Silmarillion" narrates about the higher forces of Arda, about the appearance of elves, people and gnomes - that is, the material will suffice for a whole series of fascinating and beautiful films. However, the rights to the "Silmarillion" are entirely owned by Christopher Tolkien, who unequivocally stated that he would not allow the adaptation of the ancient legends of Middle-earth.
