Irkutsk is a regional center located inEastern Siberia on the banks of the Angara River. It is a large scientific and educational city, in which more than one hundred thousand students study. Irkutsk State Technical Universityoffers its students training in 146 specialties. Graduates of the university are highly qualified specialists in the field of rocket engineering, architecture, automobile economy, bioengineering, geology, drilling of wells, mining, journalism, innovation, cartography, etc. Irkutsk State University is also a large educational institution. Future educators, political scientists, managers, lawyers and environmentalists are trained here.
