1
Double standards are a thing of the past. Now what is allowed to a man is also allowed for a woman. This is the main difference of the modern family from the families of our grandparents. In the first post-war years, people built families in an acute shortage of men, so in marriage, the husband could behave as you please, and the wife strove to not let the marriage break up. Now, after two generations, everything has changed.
2
Both spouses became more tolerant of pre-maritalsexual experience of their half. If before the girl was embarrassed by the fact that she was not married to a virgin, now it is the norm. In many pairs it is customary to talk about sexual experiences with previous partners. Accordingly, the attitude to adultery in many cases became more tolerant.
3
The roles of both spouses have become equal: a man actively participates in the upbringing of children and in the management of the household, a woman more often engaged in own business and career building. A wife can easily earn much more than her husband. Men do not hesitate to lead a household, sit at home with children and even go on leave to care for a child.
4
Attitude to civil marriage, and in fact - tocohabitation has become much more tolerant. Women have learned to exercise their rights without even being legally married. In addition, they no longer feel the economic dependence on her husband. Moreover, there were young mothers who knowingly bring up children without a husband, who earn their own money and have time to do their homework.
5
The former importance of certain symbols of the family disappeared. For example, wearing wedding rings is no longer considered compulsory. Many buy rings only for the wedding ceremony and no more. Many other wedding attributes (wedding, for example) were considered unnecessary. Another example: earlier it was believed that the couple should sleep in the same bed. In modern families, often spouses sleep in different rooms, finding it more convenient.
6
Legislation on marriage and divorce becamemore liberal, which became a prerequisite and reason for a more tolerant attitude toward divorce. Spouses no longer fear losing their family. Children's institutions no longer tease children from single-parent families, since many children are psychologically accustomed to one parent.
