1

Find a pattern of tunic. There are many of them, for tunics with sleeves and without, of different lengths. Search patterns can be found in magazines for sewing enthusiasts, for example, Burda, in books of the same trend or on websites devoted to designing clothes.

2

If you do not find a suitable pattern, make upher. For this, take as a basis a pattern for an ordinary women's shirt. In the case of a tunic, modify the pattern so that the front part is whole-cut, and not consist of two shelves. Then make the desired jacket more comfortable. Measure the circumference of the chest and thighs, add a few centimeters to them and expand the existing pattern. If necessary, change and pattern the sleeves. They should be straight, with no extra assemblies and excessive pomp in the shoulder area. Also consider the length of the tunic. In the classical version, it should reach at least to the hips, and maybe longer. To do this, measure the distance from your shoulder to the desired point - the thigh or lower. Make the appropriate changes to the pattern. Cut out the resulting pattern if you made it on a separate sheet of tracing paper or millimeter paper.

3

Prepare the fabric from which you will sew tunic. It is advisable to iron it beforehand,so that unnecessary wrinkles are not spoiled by cutting. Pin it with pins cut out of paper pattern. If you are sewing a tunic from a fabric with a pattern, when arranging the pattern, take into account the direction of the pattern. Circle the attached paper with an erasable pencil with an indentation of one and a half to two centimeters for the allowances on the seams. Cut out the resulting piece of tunic with tailor's scissors.
