Tip 1: How Mavrodi managed to revive the MMM

In January 2011, the infamous creatorFinancial pyramid MMM Sergei Mavrodi announced the creation of a new project. This time the financier changed tactics, stating directly that his business model is a "pyramid" and carries financial risks. Since the creation of the MMM-2011, more than 30 million people have participated in the project, according to various estimates. How did Mavrodi manage to revive his offspring?

How Mavrodi managed to revive the MMM
On January 10, 2011, Sergey Mavrodisensational statement. In his blog, he launched a new large-scale campaign, called MMM-2011. This time the abbreviation of the MMM stands for its founder as "We Can Much". To immediately exclude accusations of deceiving future investors, the creator of the famous pyramid of the 1990s immediately bluntly stated that his project is a financial pyramid, money can not be returned, and also did not recommend everyone to immediately participate in the MMM-2011. This tactic makes it difficult to prove that the actions of Mavrodi are fraud. Mavrodi regularly began to spread on the pages of the blog information about the structure of the new organization and the progress of measures to restore the MMM. The novelty of the idea is that in the new project there are so-called "foremen" and "centenarians", and payments are made to each other by the participants of the system, without the participation of the head. Thus, Mavrodi tried in some way to absolve himself of responsibility for the results of his brainchild's activities. The essence of the pyramid, however, has not changed: for participation you need to become a contributor to the MMM-2011 and wait patiently when the system will work for you huge interest. Another idea of Sergei Mavrodi is also built on the classical "Ponzi scheme," in which the income of participants in the system is entirely composed of contributions from new members. What happens when people who want to get rich quickly will be predictable. Sergei Mavrodi still considers his new project completely invulnerable, indestructible and unsinkable. It should be clarified that the first version of the MMM in the mid-90s of the last century was scandalously closed by law enforcement agencies, leaving most of the depositors without money. Mavrodi for a long time was hiding from justice, but in the end was detained and sentenced to 5 years imprisonment. After serving time, the great combinator returned to his former activities. To revive the activities of MMM its creator helped all the same human weaknesses: greed, greed and the desire for rapid enrichment at the expense of others. According to the organizers and leaders of the pyramid, as of the end of May 2012 more than 35 million investors participate in the project. Most of them, obviously, are relatively young people who do not remember the sensational history of MMM and did not face financial problems.

Tip 2: What ended the scandal with the Mavrodi

Sergei Mavrodi in the early 90-ies founded the "MMM"- one of the first financial pyramids in Russia, which deceived about 15 million of its depositors. Despite the trial and the serving of prison term, the swindler managed to revive his offspring.

What ended the scandal with the Mavrodi
Organization Mavrodi, called "MMM-2011"issued virtual securities called Mavro. Their quotes changed according to the order of the head of the organization. According to the statement of Mavrodi, the abbreviation "MMM" means "We can do a lot", and the system itself is a mutual support fund. Through the purchase of MAVRO, people contribute money to the general account of the organization, and then they can return their investments with a profit up to 360% per annum. The structure of the organization, as before, was built on the principle of a pyramid - payments to depositors occur at the expense of financial investments of newly-joined participants. Ironically, despite the history of MMM in the past decade, the company began to actively develop. May 28, 2012 "MMM-2011" has collapsed. First, the organization's employees reported on the suspension of payments on deposits. Then there was information about the closure of offices, bank accounts and the export of all cash. Ordinary participants of "MMM" could not contact its administrators. Even before that, in March 2012, Sergei Mavrodi was arrested due to non-payment of an administrative fine, but because of complaints about his health was hospitalized. In the midst of the scandal with the collapse of the "MMM-2011" he escaped from the hospital, after which he let himself know about himself via the Internet. Mavrodi on his blog acknowledged the stoppage of payments, but said that this is only a temporary phenomenon due to technical problems. And a little later said that because of too much panic of depositors, the development of "MMM-2011" is impossible, and therefore for its support, he opens the "MMM-2012", which continues to function to this day. And in the time since the crash of the "MMM-2011", Sergei Mavrodi had plans to start a political career: recently a video appeared on the Internet in which he shares his plans to found a political party and enter the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The expert council at the Federal Antimonopoly Service issued an official conclusion That "MMM-2011" is a financial pyramid. Based on this in several regions of Russia and CIS countries, criminal cases have been opened against the organizers of the pyramid on fraud. In the light of what is happening, the Ministry of Finance is developing a draft on the introduction of the Criminal Code of the new article - "the organization of the financial pyramid," but Sergei Mavrodi believes that this will not entail any consequences for him.

Tip 3: How the Mavrodi Pyramid Works

MMM is a classic financial pyramid,The organizers of which pay interest on deposits from the funds contributed by new participants. Its development is predictable: first the pyramid becomes popular, people invest money in it and make a profit, but with time, the funds begin to be missed, payments stop, and the structure collapses.

How the Mavrodi Pyramid Works
At first, the MMM was a cooperative engaged inThe sale of equipment and issued their own shares. Stock prices were constantly growing, and in an effort to maximize profits, Sergei Mavrodi issued more and more securities. When the Ministry of Finance banned him from continuing to sell new shares, Mavrodi began printing tickets that by law did not have the status of securities, but were unofficially equated with them. Then, in 1994, the financial pyramid appeared. Investors bought tickets in huge quantities, and they even became something of an unofficial currency. The income of Mavrodi has become huge, because, according to the most conservative estimates, at least 10 million Russians have invested in the pyramid. Each of them received interest from the deposit, and they were paid out of the funds of new depositors, because, unlike banks, the MMM did not use the money received to receive additional income. Three years later, in 1997, Mavrodi announced the collapse of the financial pyramid, and hundreds of thousands of depositors lost the opportunity to not only receive interest, but also to return their money. In 2011, an "improved" version of the MMM appeared. Mavrodi announced that the new structure will work in the electronic system WebMoney, which means that it is impossible to take money by force, as according to the opinion of Sergey Panteleevich's adherents, it was done by the state at the collapse of the previous MMM. The pyramid of MMM-2011 operated on the principle of network marketing. Each new participant who made his contribution was transferred to the account of $ 20 as a bonus, besides, depositors were also asked for an additional fee to convince their acquaintances to join the MMM. At first it was announced that each participant will be paid 40% of the deposit amount to attract new people, but soon this number dropped to 10%, and bonuses were removed. Only a part of the participants was able to get their money, while the rest were left with nothing when it became known about the collapse of the MMM-2011. To pay off his debts, Mavrodi plans to create a new pyramid.
