How to make mint jam

Mint jam is a very unusual dessert, ithas a fresh taste and fragrant aroma. Sugar syrup, on which the jam is based, draws essential oils and juice from mint, thanks to which the taste of dessert turns out to be so saturated.

Preparation of products

For the preparation of mint jam you will need: 200 g fresh mint, 500 grams of granulated sugar, 1 glass of cold running water, 1/2 tsp. citric acid.

Rinse fresh mint under cold running waterand dry with a kitchen towel, then grind it together with the stems. Lay the chopped mint into a bowl and pour half of the sugar. Add the citric acid in the required amount. Stir all the ingredients and leave them for 6 hours. During this time, mint leaves the juice.

In a saucepan, pour 1 cup of water and addsecond half of sugar. Cook the simple syrup over low heat. Next, pour the mint into this syrup and leave for another 6 hours. After the time has passed, put peppermint into the syrup over medium heat and bring to a boil. Allow to cool.

Take out the mint, squeezing it well. Strain the jam through a sieve, then simmer for 5 minutes. Pour into clean dry jars.

Mint jam is ready!
