How to make candles with the help of sand
Homemade candles are not only an interesting activity, but also a subject for decorating an interior. It's very easy to make them, and the process itself will appeal to both adults and children.
You will need
- Wax or conventional household candles
- Thread for the wick
- Slightly moist river sand
- Sand container
- Wax melting utensils
- Wax stirring stick
- Multiple knitting needles or wands

Fill the container with sand. Give the desired shape to future candles. Make a few grooves with your finger - they are useful if you want to make candles in the form of a "bowler on the legs." Insert the thread (wick) into the center of the groove in the sand. Make sure that it sits firmly and vertically.

Melt the wax in a bowl, stirring with a stick. If available, you can add any color and aromatic essential oils.

Gently fill the imprint in the sand with wax. Attach the thread (wick) to the spoke. Leave the candles until the wax solidifies.

Remove the candles from the sand.
