Pencil made from salted dough

Proportions: 2 cups of salt, 1 cup of flour. Mix the ingredients and add water in small portions. Once you get a plastic mass - the dough is ready. If you added too much water and the dough became liquid, then just add the flour. Rinse the dough with a rolling pin to a thickness of 3-4 mm. Take your base and carefully wrap it with a batter. If the dough is torn, then moisten the fingers with water and a piece of dough spread the crack. In order to get a smoother surface, smooth all irregularities with wet fingers. Now you need to blind the animal's muzzle. For example, you decided to make a muzzle of a pig. Take a piece of dough and roll the ball. Flatten it and make 2 holes. It will be a patch. After moistening the water with the back side of the patch, attach it to the pencil holder approximately in the middle. From the balls make eyes. You can also make ears - for this, roll out the dough and cut the ears with a knife. Give them a shape and attach them to the edges of the pencil. After you have made a muzzle, the dough should be dried. You can dry it in the oven, but it's better to do it in the sun. So you will avoid cracks. Put your pencil in a warm and dry place, after a day or 2 dough will dry. After that, sandpaper to remove irregularities and roughness, if any. Now you can paint a pencil. Acrylic colors are good - they are bright and suitable for painting almost any surface. If desired, after painting, you can cover the pencil holder with varnish.

For work you need PVA glue, twine and basefor a pencil case (a glass or a can). Stick the end of the twine to the bottom edge of your base and start gently wrapping it. Try not to have gaps. When you reach the top edge, trim the rope and glue the tip. Apply a thin layer of PVA glue all over the pencil - this will provide additional strength. To make the top more attractive, make a pigtail from the twine and glue it at the edge. This pencil looks very stylish. If you do not like the color of the twine, you can paint the finished work with acrylic paints.
