Disinfectants

What to watch out for

Virtually all disinfectant household chemicals, from"Favorite" bleach, which our grandmothers, nurses and cleaners abundantly showered or showered toilets and bathrooms, up to modern means for cleaning tiles, sanitary ware and bathrooms, contain unsafe for health chlorine, ammonia, phenol and other substances. We know the basic rules how to handle them (in gloves, with the door open and the hood turned on). But we often forget about caution when storing these disinfectants. Recall that the good housewife kept everything for the future. And the instructions for storage and safety rules are usually not readable. Unless, at opening of bags for clearing of the water drain we are cautious, painfully aggressive powder should be dissolved by water in pipes. In general, the powder chemistry should be treated with extreme caution. This includes conventional washing powders, bleaches, powdered means for controlling insects (flies, cockroaches, house ants). The aerosol containers can be a source of toxic gases. Improper storage of disinfectants and household chemicals can lead to interaction and chemical reactions of different drugs with the release of hazardous substances for humans, toxins and gases. The consequences that await us with improper storage and use of disinfectants and cleaning chemicals, can manifest themselves in the form of dermatitis, allergies and asthma, reduced immunity.

How to store cleaning and cleaning products properly

The main rule is in a place inaccessible to children. If in the house with you elderly people with signs of memory disorders live - everything must be hidden under the lock. Select in the apartment a separate pantry, a corner of the hallway or on the loggia, if the climate allows. In the house there are usually more places for pantry or closed lockers. The kitchen is in no way suitable for storing chemicals. Select the upper shelves for the most unsafe substances. Below - shelves with ordinary household chemicals, then - washcloths, rags of microfiber, with abrasive coatings and other trifles. All containers with disinfectants, powders and bleaches must be sealed or packed in strong plastic bags. All containers and bags with chemistry, especially with disinfectants, must be signed. They must be kept original packaging. If you have poured the product or poured it into another container, paste the name and instructions for use on it. Today you remember, and in a week you can forget what is in the bank. Never keep household chemicals and disinfectants under direct sunlight and near heating appliances. This rule applies to flammable substances: adhesives, alcohol, solvents, acetone.
