How to write a complaint to the European Court of Human Rights
In order to direct our Grievance in the European court by human rights person, you need to read the requirementsto writing this appeal on the official website of the organization, to fill out the form of the established sample and to attach to it documents proving the violation of your rights.

Visit the official website of the European Court of Human Rights. Choose a language - English or French.

Pay attention to the vertical menu at the topthe left side of the page. Find there the penultimate item Applicants, when you hover over it, a pop-up menu will appear, select the second item Apply to the Court in it. In the next submenu, find the penultimate item Application pack.

Study the information for those who want to contactEuropean Court of Human Rights. In the list of countries, find the word "Russian", click on it. The document is in pdf format. It presents the "Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms", the protocols thereto and the form of the complaint. All information is in Russian.

Fill in the complaint form. Please provide information about yourself, your place of residence, and about which state your complaint is directed against. If you act through a representative, attach a power of attorney with the signatures of both parties to the form. To state the facts and violations of your rights, use separate pages, numbered iii and iv. Be sure to list other international institutions where you applied to consider your case.

List in paragraph 21 of the form all documents,related to your complaint. Keep in mind that when you send a letter to the European Court, you must attach copies of all these documents, after the consideration of the case they will not be returned to you.

Use the electronic complaint form inEuropean Court of Human Rights. Keep in mind that in this case you must have copies of all necessary documents in electronic form. The application form is located in the Apply to the Court submenu in the last line of the Application form online.
