"Bifidumbacterin" refers to probiotics. The drug is a dried microbial mass of living bifidobacteria, active against a variety of pathogenic and opportunistic microorganisms.
What pharmacological action does "Bifidumbacterin" have?
Bifidobacteria exhibit an antagonisticactivity against a number of opportunistic and pathogenic microorganisms, including staphylococci, shigella, E. coli, yeast-like fungi. The drug restores the balance of intestinal and vaginal microflora, activates metabolic and digestive processes, has an immunomodulatory effect.Due to "Bifidumbacterin", non-specific resistance of the organism to infectious diseases increases.
Indications for use "Bifidumbacterin"
"Bifidumbacterin" is prescribed for prevention andtreatment of gastrointestinal dysbiosis, acute intestinal infections, malabsorption syndrome, food poisoning, for the treatment of chronic constipation or diarrhea with antibiotics. Also, the preparation is indicated for correction of microflora before operations on the intestines, liver and pancreas, prevention of nosocomial infections. "Bifidumbacterin" for local, rectal or intravaginal administration is prescribed for bacterial vaginosis, nonspecific colpitis, chronic colitis, intestinal dysfunction, during preparation for childbirth and planned gynecological operations.Contraindications to the use of Bifidumbacterin
During pregnancy and lactation, the drugis applied according to the indications. Capsules and tablets should not be given to children under 3 years of age. On "Bifidumbacterin" allergic reactions are possible, and with increased sensitivity to the components of the drug, it is contraindicated.It is not recommended to take oral "Bifidumbacterin" forms simultaneously with antibiotics, and also dissolve it in hot water (above 40 degrees).
