Why there are pains and inflammation in the armpit
Some people at least once in my life experiencedpainful sensations in the armpit. Such pain can be very strong, depriving a person of peace, often accompanied by general malaise, fever, chills. This occurs as a result of inflammation of the lymph nodes (lymphadenitis) or sweat glands (hydradenitis).
Instructions
1
Why does lymphadenitis occur? Lymphadenitis, as a rule, develops against the background of an infectious disease that affects the lymphatic system. That is, it arises as a complication of this disease, with a reduced immunity of the body. Only in some cases, the cause of lymphadenitis is the direct entry of infection into the lymph node (in case of injury, trauma).
2
There are two main types of lymphadenitis: serous and purulent. With serous lymphadenitis, a person experiences painful sensations, and the inflamed knot increases noticeably in size. But other unpleasant manifestations, as a rule, do not happen.
3
In the case of purulent lymphadenitis, in addition to pain, often becoming pulsating and very strong, there is swelling, redness of the skin in the area of inflamed lymph nodes, markedly worsens overall well-being. The temperature rises, often accompanied by a strong chill, there is a headache, heart palpitations. At such signs it is necessary to address to the expert. Since purulent lymphadenitis, if left untreated, can lead to serious complications, up to sepsis.
4
What are the causes of hydradenitis? Hydradenitis mainly appears as a result of infection in the sweat gland (for example, due to micro-injuries during shaving underarms or scuffs, especially during the hot season). Also, various endocrine diseases can lead to hydradenitis, including diabetes mellitus, and in general any diseases that cause a noticeable decrease in immunity.
5
When hydradenitis on the skin of the armpitthere is a characteristic swelling in the form of a small tubercle. It grows rapidly in size, becoming very painful, especially when touched. Because of the characteristic appearance of such tubercles, similar to the nipples of a nursing dog, the name "bunny udder" was fixed for hydradenitis in common parlance.
6
In most cases, in a few daysthe suppurating sweat gland itself is opened, pus comes out and quickly there comes a complete cure. If this does not happen, the inflammatory process can spread to the entire axillary region and even go beyond it. Therefore, in the unfavorable course of hydradenitis, you must always seek medical help, and as soon as possible. To be engaged in a selftreatment, and furthermore to warm axillary hollow, at all it is impossible!
