Select the size of the plotter. In this case, it is not so much about the dimensions of the device itself, but about the formats with which it can work. Cutting plotters can be very compact. Some of them do not exceed the average printer size. Such devices, as a rule, work with A4 and A5 formats. This is the so-called desktop plotters.

If you need to work with large sheets, then you need floor plotters, the width of the cutting surface which exceeds 500 mm.

Do not purchase a cutting plotter with a high printing speed, unless you plan to use it permanently at full strength. Such equipment is much more expensive.

Find out the cutting accuracy you need. This parameter characterizes the minimum size of the cut out product. It is important to understand that the accuracy of cutting directly affects the price of the plotter. Do not purchase high-precision equipment for working with large parts.

Think about the need for an optical functionpositioning. It allows the plotter to cut out printed products in automatic mode, which bear special marks. Typically, these plotters acquire for a specific purpose, for example, for cutting finished drawings.

Pay attention to the set of knives and their parameters. For cutting photo paper and other thin materials, knives with an angle of sharpening of 45 degrees and offset 0.3 are suitable.

Find out if you need additionalfunctions. Some plotters are supplied with the following elements: LCD display, light pointer, material basket, roll holder, glove compartment and so on.
