The official name given to the newly created institution sounded like "The Embassy of Switzerland in the Russian Federation, Georgia's Interests Section". In order to maintain parity of interests of the countries involved in the negotiations, the Embassy of Switzerland in the capital of Georgia - Tbilisi - opened the Interests Section of the Russian Federation in this city.
