Aristocrats often wore such dresses with long belts, which several times turned around the waist and hips and were fixed with a special knot on the stomach.

Women from the common people also wore a longlayered clothing. However, they were most often limited to a bottom shirt and one tunic or dress. During work, the interfering floors of clothing were tied with belts, this gave freedom of movement.

According to Christian traditions, married womenany class had to cover their heads. Aristocrats wore veils, which were much shorter in front than behind. In the XII century on the heads of noble women created complex designs often using false hair. Such haircuts, covered with veils, looked very unusual. Women from the common people covered their heads with usual scarves made of dense fabric.
