How and how to dress seeds before planting

300 years ago, the effectiveness of seed dressing before planting was proven. When agriculture became more intensive, this operation reached an industrial scale.

Instructions

1

At home, you can use the mostsimple and effective method of etching: a solution of manganese. For these purposes, you need to prepare a 1-2% solution. The main criterion in dressing is to achieve uniform wetting of all seeds. The stuck seeds are rubbed with fingers, carefully separated. As practical observations show, tomato seeds are most susceptible to gluing, so before dressing, they can be spread on gauze, and on top, cover with one more layer and etch under such conditions, so as not to spend a lot of time on seed separation.

2

For seeds of different cultures, it is more efficient to usedifferent in degree of concentration of solution and different temperatures. A solution of manganese 1%, the temperature of which is 20-22 ° C, is used on seeds of tomatoes, radish, fizalis, celery, peas, beans, onions, beans and corn. The time of the seeds in the solution should be at least 45 minutes.

3

For such crops as cabbage, carrots, dill, pumpkin, eggplant, pepper and parsnip will be more effective soaking the seeds for 20 minutes in a 2% manganese solution, the temperature of which is 20-25 ° C. After any type of dressing, the seeds are immediately washed with water and then planted.

4

If the potassium permanganate seems to be ineffective anda non-serious preparation for seed dressing, it is possible to use factory analogs, acting according to the instructions and be sure that children and pets do not come into contact with the substance. Chemicals used for this procedure protect plants from infection with pathogenic microflora at the very beginning of growth and development, but with careless handling can harm a person. The disinfectants destroy the very beginning of the disease - the mycelium or spores or bacteria, and then, in the soil, create a zone protecting young growth from mold and root rot.

5

In the composition of disinfectants are used substances, have fungicidal or bactericidal action, and sometimes both at once. The composition may also include insecticides and herbicides, so at home use these drugs with great caution. It is safer to use ordinary potassium permanganate. Industrial disinfectants are effective against diseases that rarely appear on the garden bed or at home on the windowsill. If use is still necessary, you need to resort to all possible security measures.
