Uraza-Bayram is one of the oldest Muslimholidays, which are usually celebrated on a wide scale for several days. Every year the Uraza is celebrated at different times, since its beginning depends on the end of the eighth month of the Muslim calendar - Ramadan.

Uraza is also called the holiday of dispensation, after allthis day marks the end of the hardest month of the year for Muslims - Ramadan. This holiday was established in 624 by the Prophet Muhammad, and since then has been observed by all adherents of Islam religiously. In many countries, Uraza-Bairam is considered a day off, as it is forbidden to work during this holiday.

In 2014, the Uraza on the Muslim calendarfalls on July 28, and it will be traditionally celebrated for three days from 28 to 30 July. This holiday is preceded by the mandatory collection of alms in favor of the needy, which is called zakat. This ritual is one of the five pillars of Islam, therefore it is observed by all adherents of this religion scrupulously.

Prepare for Uraza Bairam in Muslim familiesbegin for four days. Mistresses must carefully clean their homes, not forgetting about cleaning the cowshed and the livestock, because for the holiday everything should sparkle with purity. After that each member of the family tidies himself up and necessarily dresses in clean clothes, so that the celebration of the most important day in the Muslim calendar does not overshadow anything. Well, on the eve of the hostess they start to prepare different delicious dishes and exchange them for other treats with friends, relatives and acquaintances. Cooked delicacies, as a rule, carry kiddies. It is believed that the house before the holiday should smell of food.

The celebration of the Uraza Bayram begins witha special prayer in all mosques, which takes place an hour after sunset. There are both men and women on it. After that, the Muslims return home, put on their festive clothes and wait for a rich family meal, friends and neighbors to visit. On this day in Muslim countries it is not accepted to work, that's why people's festivities are often held in the streets, and the residents themselves not only receive guests, but also pay a return visit. During the celebration of Uraza Bairam it is also customary to visit the graves of deceased close people and apologize to each other.
