The diameter of the super-granules is 20-30 thousand kilometers, and the life cycle - up to two days. Changes in the equatorial radius to which they lead are measured in degrees and are calculated as follows. The extreme points of the visible star disk are connected to the observer's location point. The angle between the rays emanating from the extreme points is called the visible radius of the Sun. So, the established changes in the form of the light are 10.77 angular milliseconds. It's about 1/360 of one degree. In other words, the thickening of the Sun visible to us corresponds to the visible thickness of the human hair. However, even such seemingly insignificant fluctuations exert a perceptible influence on the Sun's gravitational field. However, recent studies have shown that the flattened shape of a single star in the solar system does not depend on the unevenness of its surface. The difference between the equatorial diameter and the diameter measured between the poles is negligible, but still there is. And the reason is gravity, rotation, magnetic field and plasma flows that pass inside the luminary. In this case, the shape close to the ideal ball is fairly stable and does not depend on the activity of the Sun. These results were obtained by scientists of the University of Hawaii on the basis of measurements of the Observatory of Solar Dynamics. All earlier studies of the shape of the sun had different results due to atmospheric distortions of the resulting images. A new look at the shape of the Sun, according to scientists, can have a serious impact on understanding the processes taking place inside it. It may well be necessary to completely reconsider theories of the internal dynamics of the solar plasma.
