The European Football Championship is held every fouryear and is one of the most prestigious tournaments in this sport. The final Euro 2012 games will be held in Poland and Ukraine. That is why the qualifying tournament could not, for example, meet the teams of Russia and Georgia.

Nine group winners and one best team,who took the second place, went directly to the final stage of the European Championships. The remaining four places were played in the play-offs between eight teams that took second place in their groups.

The final part of the tournament will be attended by national teamsthe following countries: England, Germany, Greece, Denmark, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Ukraine, France, Croatia, Czech Republic and Sweden. All sixteen teams by draw, held on December 2, 2011 in Kiev, were divided into four baskets.

In the first basket (A) were the teams of Poland,Russia, Greece, the Czech Republic. In the second (B) teams of the Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, Denmark. Teams of Spain, Italy, Croatia, Ireland will play in the group C. Finally, the group D will bring together the teams of Ukraine, England, Sweden, France.

Analyzing the composition of the groups, we can conclude thatthe Russian national team was lucky, it was not the strongest competitors who got it, so Group A can be considered quite "passing". The situation in other groups is much more complicated. So, Ukraine, which fell into the group D, the contenders got the menacing teams of England and France. No less dramatic is the situation in Group C, where very strong teams from Spain, Italy and Croatia will play for the quarterfinals. Do not be jealous of the Danish national team, which will have to play with the teams of Germany, Portugal and Holland.

Starting with the quarterfinals, which will come eightteams, start the game of elimination - the losing team leaves the European Championship. Quarterfinal matches will be held from June 21 to June 24. Four winning teams in two games, and they will be held on June 27 and 28, will compete for the right to compete in the final for the title of the strongest team in Europe. The final will be held in Kiev on July 1.
