The final of the championship took place on May 20. On the Russian side, Aleksandr Valerievich Semin scored (at 09:57 and 35:22), Alexander Valerievich Peregozhin (26:10), Alexei Tereshchenko (33:31), Pavel Valeryevich Datsyuk (43:55) and Evgeny Vladimirovich Malkin (58:02). On the Slovak side, Zdeno Hara scored both goals (01:06 and 49:37). Thus, with a score of 6: 2, the Russian team became the winner of the tournament, and the Slovak national team took the second place. A few hours before that, a match for bronze was held in the same city. The teams of the Czech Republic and Finland took part in it. The first of them scored 3 goals, and the second - 2. As a result, the third place went to the Czech team.

All 16 teams are divided into two groups. One (group H) included teams from Russia, Finland, Slovakia, the USA, Germany, Latvia, France, Austria. Regulations
In competitive matches takes part 16teams representing different countries. They are divided into two equal groups of 8 teams. Within the group of each national team will play 7 preliminary matches. Thus, in each group there will be a total of 28 games.
For the victory in the mast team is awarded 3 points, if in the main time no team managed to get out into the leaders and it came to overtime, then both teams get 1 point.
Position of national teams in the standingsdepends, first of all, on the number of points scored. If several teams score the same number of points, then the outcome of the match between these teams is taken into account.
In the quarterfinals will fall only those teams,who will occupy 1 to 4 places in their group. Teams that took 1st place in their group will play with teams that are in the 4th position in the standings of the other group, and the second team will play against the third. The winners of these pairs will meet in the semifinal mast.
The winners of the semifinals will meet in the final match, where the world champion will be determined, and the teams that lost in the semifinal games will compete for the bronze medal title.
