Why the American Olympic uniform was sewn in China

In the US, on the eve of the London Olympics, a serious scandal broke out. The reason was the form for the American Olympic team, which, as it turned out, was sewn in China.

Why the American Olympic uniform was sewn in China

The development of a new form for AmericanOlympians was entrusted to the well-known in the US clothing manufacturer - the company Ralph Lauren. To sew the mold, the company decided to take advantage of China's cheap labor. This fact greatly angered American senators and congressmen. The leader of the democratic majority in the US Senator Harry Reed said that now it is necessary to develop the textile industry and create new jobs in America, and the American Olympic Committee should be ashamed of such an ill-considered decision. Combining all of the above, Harry Reid proposed to burn the Olympic uniform produced in China. In response to the accusations, the US Olympic Committee explained that cheap labor was used solely to reduce the cost of clothing, because it should be available not only for athletes. The form has already entered mass sale in the US, and anyone can buy for themselves a complete set of clothes, as members of the Olympic team. If this form was produced in the USA, its value would be much higher. The committee also stressed that they are satisfied with the cooperation with the company Ralph Lauren, and recalled that the US Olympic team is provided not at the expense of the state, but at the expense of private investors. Athletes themselves were satisfied with the new form and do not support the unrest of parliamentarians. Olympic champion Todd Rogers, who won gold in beach volleyball at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, expressed his opinion: "It seems to me that parliamentarians have many other important questions besides thinking about where Ralph Lauren sewed clothes." In a new form members of the US Olympic team should appear at the opening ceremony of the XXX Summer Olympic Games in London on July 27, 2012.
